Program Manager for New Product Introduction (NPI)

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead the development and launch of camera modules. In this role, you will oversee the full lifecycle of NPI for camera modules, from concept to mass production stage and also coordinate with process, quality and supply chain teams to ensure that the final product will meet high-quality standards, performance expectations, and launch timelines.

Responsibilities

  • NPI Management:
    • Lead and manage the full processes for the development, testing, and integration of the camera module product.
  • Project Planning:
    • Make build plan and control with customer requirement;
    • Develop detailed project timelines, identify key milestones, and manage risks to ensure product launches meet deadlines;
    • Manage and control DOE contents and schedule;
    • Manage OK2build/send and share with customer;
    • Manage jig/fixture preparation.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Meeting with customer (BOD, EOD, EPM call); Communicate and negotiation with customer;
    • Conduct regular communication with internal and external stakeholders and provide the updates on status, risks, and key milestones;
    • Prepare daily report and share with customer;
    • Prepare material and hold meeting for Daily Report and mass production transfer.
  • Issue Resolution:
    • Proactively identify and address potential blockers, technical issues, or delays;
    • Provide solutions to complex technical challenges that arise during development.
  • Quality & Performance Oversight:
    • Ensure camera modules meet quality and performance standards through testing, validation, and integration.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Drive continuous improvement in NPI processes, tools, and methodologies for efficient product development.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with Process engineers, Quality & Test teams, and supply chain Team to deliver camera modules that meet both technical and business requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Optical, or related field);
    • Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of program/project management experience in hardware development;
    • At least 2–3 years working with camera modules or related components (sensors, optics, image processing…);
    • Proven track record managing full NPI lifecycle (EVT/DVT/PVT to mass production).
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of camera systems: image sensors, lenses, autofocus mechanisms;
    • Familiarity with mobile device architecture and constraints (size, thermal, power).
  • Project Management Skills:
    • Use project management tools like JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet, MS Project, or Excel trackers;
    • Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) tools is a plus;
    • Experience with cross-functional team coordination and supplier management.
    • Ability to manage timelines, risks, and budgets effectively.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills;
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability;
    • Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Language: Proficiency in English (additional Japanese N3 & above or Chinese HSK4 & above skills are a plus).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with camera module suppliers and manufacturers;
  • Knowledge of mobile device industry trends and customer demands for camera modules.
