We are looking for a detail-oriented Material NPI (SQE) to join our team, responsible for ensuring the quality of materials used in New Product Introduction (NPI) processes. This role will collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to manage material quality, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience in quality engineering, supplier management, and materials used in production environments.
Responsibilities:
Material Quality Control:
- Conduct inspections and root cause analyses to resolve material-related production issues.
- Ensure all incoming materials meet specifications and standards.
- Perform reliability evaluations and manage RTV (Return to Vendor) processes for defective materials.
Supplier Collaboration:
- Work closely with suppliers to improve material performance and resolve quality issues.
- Communicate material specifications and requirements to suppliers to ensure compliance.
- Coordinate material testing and evaluations with suppliers.
NPI Process Support:
- Support the NPI team by ensuring material quality aligns with design specifications during the product development phase.
- Monitor material-related issues and work with cross-functional teams to implement solutions.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Perform data analysis to identify trends in material performance.
- Prepare reports on material performance, testing results, and quality issues for internal and external stakeholders.
Quality Standards:
- Ensure compliance with quality management standards (ISO 9001, etc.).
- Provide training to internal teams on material quality and testing procedures.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in quality engineering, material management, or NPI.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of material quality control, SPC, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis.
- Experience with NPI processes and collaborating with suppliers.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and ERP systems.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.
